A fugue (FUGA) is:

a contrapuntal composition in which a short melody or phrase (the subject) is introduced by one part and successively taken up by others and developed by interweaving the parts.

or

a dissociative disorder and a rare psychiatric disorder characterised by reversible amnesia for personal identity, including the memories, personality, and other identifying characteristics of individuality. The state can last days, months or longer. Dissociative fugue usually involves unplanned travel or wandering and is sometimes accompanied by the establishment of a new identity. After recovery from a fugue state, previous memories usually return intact, and further treatment is unnecessary.

Studio 58 hosted the creation of an atmosphere based on the Fugue, both as Musical Piece and Phycological State.

Sound, light and the discreet physical presence of a performer, will encourage you to navigate yourselves into the different stages of the piece, guided by re-appearing stimuli throughout the audiovisual loop.
